Keep your smile shining

Close up of a beautiful smileMove your tongue around your mouth. Now feel the tops of the teeth and the sides. The sides are smooth, but the top of the teeth is rough, right? Why do you think that is the case? Well, it is obvious that the top of the teeth helps in chewing, and the smooth part is visible to everyone when you smile. Now, stand in front of a mirror and smile. Do you like the color of your teeth? If you do not, here are some things you can do.

Brushing

As kids, most of us tried to ride bikes. It was a very tough experience, but we never gave up till we could ride perfectly, right? Similarly just as riding takes time to perfect, so does brushing teeth. Brushing might be misunderstood. Some do it once in a while, while others do not do it. Well, here's something you need to know about brushing. The process should take at least two minutes of your time. During the process, start with back teeth brushing back and forth across the front sides of every tooth. After that, use the tip of the brush to brush behind the front teeth. That is not it yet, brush your tongue. This should be a very gentle process which should also include the gum area. Do not forget to floss in between your teeth after brushing too. This should also be done at least twice a day.

Watch what you eat

Brushing and flossing are the best ways to keep your teeth shining. However, your teeth might not maintain the color after some time if you do not watch what you put into your mouth. The teeth are the first step to digestion, which means that everything that goes into your stomach has to go through your mouth. Sugary drinks and foods are bad for your teeth, they leave behind sticky substances that facilitate the growth of bacteria which attack and destroy the color of your teeth. You sure do not want this.

In conclusion, you are advised to eat calcium-rich foods that help strengthen your teeth. Calcium helps the teeth stay healthy and strong. This in conjunction with brushing your teeth and visiting the dentist, you can be assured of a perfect and shining smile. For more information about your smile, contact us today.
